繼2014年投資PeerJ後，出版社SAGE Publishing宣佈投資同儕評論(peer review)平台Publons。Publons成立於2013年，與出版社和相關組織合作，致力於推廣同儕評論的價值，認為評論也算是研究產出的一種，評論者(reviewer)也應該得到積分(credit)。SAGE Publishing的投資股份只佔Publons一小部分，Publons仍然是獨立運作，保持出版中立，不因此有所偏頗。
